To achieve the purpose of teaching volitional deep breathing, this video is meant to develop an experiential understanding of what autonomic shallow breathing is like and what different rates of volitional deep breathing relates with it. A student will learn by doing that the autonomic shallow breathing, that happens all the time we are alive, is effortless while volitional deep breathing requires effort depending upon the rate of breathing. The slower the breath, the deeper the breath and the higher the physical effort and mental attention necessary to engage in it.
